Map Overlay for Campaigns - a simple Wargame html

I'd been long searching for a program to make maps for my campaigns that was both flexible enough for the various games I play, but also easy to use.

Having tried and failed to find one that ticked all of the boxes for me, I decided to try making my own.

I won't show you my first attempt, I tried to program it to draw hexes for me and it ended....badly....

This is when I decided I'd try a different tack, which is when I went with the....

Map Overlay

My current solution is a simple page that will let me take any image to use as a background, and then create armies, settlements and borders as objects over the top that I can move and edit/rename.

Armies leave a movement trail when I drag and drop them, helping me see who moved so far this Campaign turn, or map supply routes. But I also added a button to remove this trail if it gets too messy after a few turns.

Each army can be given a name, which can be changed any time, and clicking on any Army lets me edit it's current strength (think points value, or number of men) and current morale, as well as an option to delete the army if it's destroyed/merged into a bigger army.

I added a simple settlement creation, which let's me pick from three flag shapes (to differentiate different size settlements) and also choose a flag colour from Grey (neutral) to any of the colours the armies can be from, to show ownership.

It's a very simple program and maybe could do with a bit of a design refresh to make it look more modern, but it is letting me get campaigns set up and status stored in a way that suits me.

I would love to hear anyones thoughts; I'm also happy to share a copy if anyone wants it.
